Learning through Digital Storytelling - Kelly Nielsen
Digital storytelling can take many forms, two of which can incorporate instructional tools and student projects. During this workshop participants will discuss ways digital stories can be infused into the curriculum to help enrich learning. Participants will have a hands-on opportunity to create a short personal introduction that will help them discover the features of Photo Story.

Writing SMART Goals for Smart Students: An Application of Gagne’s Individual Excellence Goals - Jason McIntosh
Given the present standards driven curriculum and the trend towards cluster grouping, teachers are looking for ways to encourage gifted students in mixed ability classrooms to “plunge into quality” by developing expertise. This session will cover several easy-to-implement curriculum compacting techniques as well as a practical way to apply Gagne’s concept of “long-term excellence goals” for gifted students. You will receive the materials you need to go back into your classroom and implement this process tomorrow.

Creating Interactive Activities with Excel - Cindy Rothlisberger
While learning to use the basic functions in Excel, this workshop will focus on creating interactive student activities that will help enhance classroom instruction and assessment.
Participants will see examples of Excel interactive activities and assessments. They will also discover resources that can be found online. During this hands-on workshop, participants will create three different types of interactive activities.
